Two services, built for the same team.
We find the people who run your numbers
Direct, confidential search across the whole accounting and finance function — bookkeepers, AP and AR specialists, accountants, controllers, FP&A leaders, and chief financial officers. Permanent, interim, or temp-to-hire.
Every candidate is interviewed and assessed by us before you see a name, so you evaluate a short slate rather than a stack of resumes.
We run accounts payable, receivable, and the cash outlook
Cash management as an outsourced function: invoice intake and coding, approval routing, vendor payments, customer billing, collections follow-up, cash application, and reconciliation — operated by us, on your systems.
On top of the day-to-day work you get cash forecasts at one, three, six, and twelve months, so payroll, payables, and growth decisions are made against a number instead of a hunch.
A finance hire is a forecast you can't revise.
Most search firms sell you a process. We sell you the outcome: a shortlist of four operators who have already run the quarter you're about to run — the close you need tightened, the audit you need clean, the raise you need to survive.
We recruit one function and we recruit all of it — bookkeepers and AP and AR specialists, accountants and controllers, FP&A leaders and chief financial officers. Staying inside accounting and finance is what lets us go deep enough to tell a strong hire from a plausible one.
From the ledger
to the boardroom.
We cover every seat in the accounting and finance function — the people who close the books, the managers who own the controls, and the executives who answer for the numbers. We know what each level pays, who is ready for the next step, and how to reach them.

“The best finance candidates are never on the market. They're on a list. We keep the list.”
Our network is built two ways at once. Relationships come first — finance leaders we have known for years, who take our call because we have been useful to them before. Data keeps those relationships current: we track who has closed the books at your scale, who has taken on more responsibility this year, and what the market is paying at every level. Judgment from the first, precision from the second.

Employers tell us about the seat. Candidates send a resume. Both go to the same desk, and a person reads every one.
Cash is the constraint. It is rarely the thing being managed.
In most growing companies, payables get paid when someone remembers, invoices go out when someone has time, and collections happen when the balance gets uncomfortable. The books eventually balance, but the cash position is a guess — and guesses are expensive when payroll is due.
Hiring a full AP and AR team is not the answer for every business. Handing the function to us is. You get trained people, real controls, and a forward view of your cash without adding headcount.
The full cycle, both directions.
Accounts Payable
Money out, controlled and on schedule.
Accounts Receivable
Money in, sooner and with less friction.
You keep the authority. We do the work.
Outsourcing the function should tighten your controls, not loosen them. Separation of duties is the point: we prepare and document, you approve and release.
No payment leaves without your approval
We prepare the run and present it for release. Approval thresholds are documented up front and enforced on every transaction.
We work in your accounting system
Your books stay yours, in the software you already use. There is no migration to a proprietary platform and nothing to unwind if you later bring the function in-house.
Full audit trail, ready for your CPA
Every invoice, approval, and payment is documented and reconciled. Your accountant or auditor gets a clean package instead of a shoebox.
Reporting you actually read
Aging on both sides, cash position, the four forecast horizons, and a short written summary of what changed and what needs a decision.
Signs this is the right move.
One person is the whole function
And when they are out, nothing gets billed, paid, or collected.
Collections happen in bursts
Nobody calls on aging until cash gets tight, and by then the invoice is old.
You cannot answer “how much cash next month”
Not without opening the bank account and doing mental math.
Growth added volume, not process
The same workflow that worked at fifty invoices a month is buckling at four hundred.
Tell us about your operation.
Send us your industry, scope, and invoice volume and we will come back with a straight read on whether this fits.
Cash management: accounts payable and receivable, operated by us.
We take over the day-to-day running of both sides of the ledger. On payables that means invoice intake and coding, approval routing, vendor management, and payment runs released only on your authorization. On receivables it means customer invoicing, structured collections follow-up, cash application, and aging with at-risk balances flagged. All of it inside your accounting system, with a full audit trail for your CPA.
Because we operate both sides, we also produce cash forecasts and outlooks at one, three, six, and twelve months — built from live payables and receivables rather than historical averages. The near horizons tell you what you can cover and what to release; the longer ones support hiring, equipment, credit, and annual planning decisions.
Payables operations
Coding, matching, approval routing, vendor records, and scheduled payment runs.
Receivables operations
Billing, delivery, collections follow-up, cash application, and dispute research.
Cash outlooks
One, three, six, and twelve month horizons, each answering a different decision.
Separation of duties
We prepare and document. You approve and release. Everything is reconciled.
Who we work with: any size, any industry.
A growing company hiring its first full-time accountant needs the same care as a national employer building out a department. We scale the search to the business, not the other way around.
Small & growing businesses
First finance hires, bookkeeping and accounting support, and the help to build a function from the ground up.
Established mid-market
Added depth and specialization as volume, complexity, and reporting requirements grow.
Nonprofit & public sector
Fund accounting, grant compliance, and reporting to boards, funders, and the communities they serve.
Every industry
Construction, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, retail, hospitality, technology, and more.
From the ledger to the boardroom.
Eight categories covering the whole accounting and finance function, on a permanent, interim, or temp-to-hire basis.

Clear commitments, on both sides.
Whether we are filling a seat or running your ledger, everyone should know what to expect. These are the standards we hold ourselves to on every engagement.
We take the time to understand the role
Before we contact anyone, we learn how your team operates, what the position is accountable for, and who tends to succeed in it. A job description alone is not enough to recruit against.
We present a considered slate, not a stack
Every candidate we send has been interviewed and assessed by us, with a written summary of their experience, their strengths, and how they would fit your team. Volume is not a substitute for judgment.
We communicate honestly, including when it is inconvenient
If the compensation is below market, if the search will be difficult, or if we are not the right firm for it, we tell you plainly. Clients and candidates both hear where things actually stand.
We stay involved after the offer
A placement is not finished at signature. We stay in contact with both sides through the first months to make sure the fit we promised is the fit that shows up.
On cash management, you keep the authority
When we operate your payables and receivables, separation of duties is the point. We prepare and document; you approve and release. Your books stay in your system, reconciled and ready for your CPA.
Two gaps we kept seeing.
Smaller businesses were on their own
Most small and growing companies do not have a recruiting team, and often not a dedicated HR function either. Hiring falls to an owner or a controller who already has a full job, with no time to run a thorough search and no practical way to verify whether a candidate's experience is as deep as the resume suggests.
The cost of getting it wrong is heaviest for exactly these businesses. We started HARSTA to give them the same quality of search and the same rigor of evaluation that large employers take for granted.
The same gap showed up in the work itself. Plenty of owners did not need another hire so much as they needed the payables and receivables handled properly — with real controls and an honest view of the cash. That is why our consulting practice exists alongside the search practice.
Good people were lost in the process
On the other side, capable accounting and finance professionals were sending applications into systems that never replied, and being screened on keywords rather than on what they can actually do.
We wanted to connect talent with opportunity directly and make the search simpler: a real conversation, honest feedback, and an advocate who understands both your experience and the way you work.
Tell us the seat. We'll tell you the market.
Every inquiry gets a written response within one business day — including a read on compensation and whether we are the right firm for it. We turn down more searches than we take.
Retained, contingent, or interim: we will recommend the model that matches the risk rather than the one that pays us most.
Your inquiry is in the queue.
A partner responds within one business day.
Pick the model that matches the risk.
Executive Search
Chief financial officers, controllers at the executive level, and the leaders who report to them. Exclusive, milestone-billed, and reported on throughout.
Finance & Accounting
Controllers, managers, accountants, and AP and AR specialists. You pay on placement — but you still get a scorecard, not a stack of resumes.
Fractional & Contract
Coverage when a seat opens unexpectedly, or added capacity for an audit, a system change, or a period of growth.
Get on the list.
Two minutes now, and you are in front of us the next time a matching role opens. Most of the people we place were not actively searching when we first met them.
Your resume is never sent to an employer without your approval for that specific role.
You're on the list.
A recruiter reviews every submission personally.
How we represent you.
Matched with intention
We learn your experience, your strengths, and the environment you do your best work in before your name goes anywhere.
Confidential by default
Your materials never leave our office without your permission, in writing, for each role.
Real preparation
You walk into every interview knowing the team, the priorities of the role, and what success looks like in it.
We advocate for you
We present your experience in full and represent your interests all the way through offer and start date.
Hand off the payables and receivables.
Tell us your industry, the scope you want covered, and roughly how many invoices you run. That is enough for us to come back with a straight read on fit and what the engagement would look like.
You keep approval authority over every payment and your books stay in the accounting system you already use.
Your inquiry is in the queue.
We respond within one business day with a read on fit and next steps.
Operations, controls, and the cash outlook.
